Information Concepts developed an application to collect point-of-sales scanner data from regional retail chains, aggregate this data, and provide it back to the chains at a summary level suitable for management analysis and review. The system collects scanner data for an entire chain nightly, aggregates the data by store and region at a category and subcategory level, and compares it to the chains past sales, promotional schedule, and sales plan. Aggregated data and drill-downs defined by the retail customer are available for review over the Web the next day.
Information Concepts developed a Web-based Plant Status Reporting system for Virginia Power. The critical system, employed at nuclear facilities, enables plant personnel to document procedures and record monitoring instrument measurements, and transmits this information to a central location for report generation and executive review. The system serves a single repository for all of Virginia Power’s nuclear plant data.
Information Concepts supported GEICO's Project Management Office (PMO) by providing the CIO with a cohesive view of GEICO's IT Projects. GEICO maintains all IT project data in an MS Project Server which is updated by the teams via the Project Server Web Interface. The system, built with SQL Reporting Services and ASP.NET, extracts Project information from the Project Server database and delivers a series of reports which outline project schedules, resources, and costs from an enterprise view.
Information Concepts developed the E-Commerce Web site PayTheTicket.com for UnaServe, LLC. The site allows local and state municipalities to post and collect unpaid fines, fees, and taxes via the Internet as well as real-time credit card and ACH transaction processing. Additionally, the application allows users to search the database for invoice and payment transaction information.
Equalfooting.com, an online marketplace for small businesses in construction and manufacturing, engaged Information Concepts to design and implement a J2EE Compliant Architecture for the new version of the product.
In 2000, Information Concepts began providing application development service to Genetic Therapy, Inc (GTI), the leader in the development of human gene therapy products, for the treatment of genetic and acquired diseases. GTI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Novartis Corporation. Information Concepts' staff is responsible for designing, prototyping, building, and maintaining GTI's Intranet, Netlink. This includes development of a Help Desk Application, an Electronic Archive System, and a Laboratory Notebook Tracking System.
Information Concepts migrated this production system from DEC VAX/VMS to Windows. The effort involved developing a front-end user interface to the database to allow for concurrent data manipulation by up to 1,000 users. In addition, Information Concepts developed programs for Voight Aircraft Industries (formerly the Aerostructures Corporation) to automate file downloads from an FTP site, process them, and load data into the database.
