ACSInformation Concepts ported the Petroleum Research Fund (PRF) Grants Tracking system from a 68030-based NCR Tower to a Sun SparcStation, for the American Chemical Society (ACS). The system, which consists of various UNIX utilities, C and Troff programs, and a Unify relational DBMS, is used to gather and track grant proposals and grants, disburse grants, and generate formatted correspondence. Information Concepts was responsible for debugging the final system, implementing Y2K remediation of date comparisons, and developing a pre-processor to ensure that generated correspondence is in a format consistent with versions of tbl and troff running under Solaris.
