This Data Warehouse was an effort to allow for new customer-centric objectives for AvalonBay’s Customer Insight Program to be met. Throughout the entire development process, Information Concepts utilized its unique, rapid-prototyping abilities in order to provide AvalonBay consistent visual representations of the data model. These functional prototypes also provided an opportunity for AvalonBay to become familiar with how the system would operate prior to it being delivered. The final Customer Insight Data Mart system Information Concepts delivered was developed through Microsoft’s .NET platform, utilizing tools such as SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Analysis Services, and Visual Studio. This system allowed AvalonBay to collect data from existing systems into a reporting data mart, while also being able to collect data from sources such as Salesforce.com, PeopleSoft HR, Intuit’s MRI, and third party data for demographics and geotagging.
